This is a continuation on temperature play, so be sure to read my prior article on candles and wax here. Today we've covering the opposite — freezing, ice and colder temperatures.

When it comes to colder-temperature play, there are far fewer risks (relative to fire play). I'm not kink-shaming here, but unless you're throwing your naked partner in below-freezing water or tossing them naked out into the snow, you're unlikely to give your partner hypothermia or cause too much skin damage.
But you can make a big puddle… of any kind you please (; So you'll likely benefit from having a towel or paper towels handy during this type of temperature play, too.
Cold-temperature play encompasses a wide variety of activities, but the ones I'm most fond of (and can speak to more thoroughly) involve ice cubes or freezing toys.

Ice Cubes
Cheap, easy to make, and oh-so-much fun! If you like different sensations, or you and your partner(s) have sadomasochistic tendencies, you might enjoy feeling ice cubes run down your spine or up the insides of your thighs. If you really want the squirms, try inserting them.
Another game I like to play is leaving an ice cube on whomever is the scene's 'bottom,' then making them wait to receive something until the ice cube melts. The build-up is priceless. Another way I've used ice is to have the recipient hold the ice in their mouth, gag them, then take advantage of the distraction in their mouth. You can get very creative with it!

Freezing or Chilling
This one is a bit self-explanatory. A lot of toys can go in the freezer, though I wouldn't recommend anything electronic — as it cools, water from the ice or condensation might ruin your toys. But many dildos and other insertable toys can be frozen. Just like with fire, the radically-different temperature can be a bit of a shock, sending those chills up your back and getting the goosebumps going.
Personally, although I love ice play on me, frozen toys aren't always my favorite. But everyone is different! As I've mentioned before, one of my girlfriend's favorite ways to masturbate is with a frozen glass dildo.
Extras
It doesn't just have to be ice! A lot of cold edibles work — chocolate syrup, a cold popsicle, whatever you have on hand that you want to eat off of your partner.

Let me know in a response if you have any other favorite ways to incorporate colder temperatures into sex play! And if you're into cool-temp play — or intend to give it a shot — give a few claps 👏
