Either you start to grow fast and be happy, or you're struggling to make $50 barely.

Ughh, I feel ya pain.

Now, I ain't a great writer yet, but I'm always open to hearing any opinion. In fact, thanks to you guys, I managed to improve myself a lot. Without your feedback, I don't think I could've gotten this far.

But that's the main difference between people who genuinely want to grow as writers and people who are just here for the money; they keep making the same mistakes and are killing their income.

So if you really want to make your first (or next) $100 fast, I highly suggest ya take these steps, and I promise you, you'll see a huge difference. You don't necessarily need to learn all from me; there are many great writers who share valuable tips.

But I'll talk about what worked for me personally and what didn't so that you don't end up making the same mistakes.

5 tips on how to make $100 as fast as possible:

1) You need to learn what your audience loves to read

In case you didn't know, you don't earn by writing articles; you earn by how many people read your story.

As a writer (especially if you want to grow fast), you need to check your articles' performance and which ones are doing well. Once you get an idea of what your audience is loving, write more articles on that topic.

Your audience won't care if you write about why farming is important when they are pilots. Instead, they would love to read about how technology has made airplanes safer.

Small tips on how to know what your audience loves:

— Lose body weight

— Research the top popular topics to write about

— Check your articles' performance (as I mentioned)

— Read articles by top writers who are in your niche and check what they are writing

Once you finally learn what your audience loves (which is gonna take some days for some of you), you can finally see your earnings change.

Sure, it is not an overnight change, but it's definitely a great change.

2) No more BS, fake, irrelevant, or spam engagement if you want loyal followers

So how many of us are pissed at reading spammy engagements?

Ugh, you ain't alone, pal.

While you think that just giving 50 claps and writing "great article" is enough, remember, son, they ain't fools like you thought they were.

They are smarter than us, and they know exactly what we are doing, where we live, and what we eat. 👀

So yo better be nice to them, Boyyyyy.

If you want to be treated as a great writer, you have to do the same for your audience. Make them feel like they're being appreciated for their hard work, write some beautiful words that'll make their day, and write something useful if you genuinely want to help them grow.

Remember, it doesn't matter how small you are on Medium; if you genuinely support your audience, they are your homies for life, and they will support you back no matter what.

3) If you thought that your audience would read 20 articles every single day, well, you thought wrong

One of the biggest mistakes that new writers (even old ones) make is that they publish 20 articles every day and I'm not even kidding.

I don't know what they think when they publish this many articles, but they do it.

I'll never understand the logic behind it, but if you know, please save my last brain cells.

Now the news is that most of the time, Medium staff members take action and temporarily shut their accounts down (I mean, who wouldn't?). I try to warn them, saying if they keep doing it, they'll have a higher chance of getting suspended, but guess what happens next?

They block me from reading their articles and keep publishing more. This is what happens when you genuinely try to help someone. 🥲

Back to our topic, remember that people will never buy 10 T-shirts that last 2 weeks; they can buy one high-quality T-shirt that lasts for years. That's the power of quality, pal.

I know many of you are a little bit desperate, but trust me, if you start to publish 1–2 articles per day, you'll see a huge difference.

Your audience is human beings, not money-printing machines, so treat them like humans.

4) Analysis of which days your articles perform well

We talked about the importance of understanding what your audience loves to read, but it's also important to check which days your articles perform the best. You need to be aware of when your audience is active and when they are sleeping with a teddy bear.

The last thing you would want after writing for hours is readers not reading your article (pain as a writer).

A great tip from my experience: try to publish an article for 7 days. After seeing which days of the week your articles are performing well, focus on those days and try to write better articles.

For me, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday work really well. Let me know how your schedule looks.

5) The most important step is to have realistic expectations

Another big mistake that newbies make is to expect money to come to their door.

My friend, just like other businesses, Medium is a business model, and it takes time to build an income.

Now, yes, all the tips that I shared will help you achieve that goal sooner, but it's not a guarantee. I have said this many times, but it took me three years before I saw pennies in my bank account.

I know many writers who get discouraged when they see their earnings are low. My friend, you're doing great. Remember, even the top writers earned a few cents when they started out.

So be realistic with your goals, set the right goals, put effort in, and I promise you, you won't regret it.

As always, if you think there are more important steps I didn't mention, feel free to insult me and share those tips; I ain't sensitive. 🖕

Until next time, champs. Also, don't subscribe if you think I'm not fat.
