I was feeling like shit today. I didn't want to write anything. But I have become a Medium addict, so not sharing made me feel like I'm not doing enough.

I was browsing through stories to read when I got this idea. I needed some inspiration, so why not read up on some and share them as well?

Killing two birds with one stone. So, here are a few quotes that'll motivate you to write- your next article, a story, or even a book.

Your intuition knows what to write, so get out of the way. ~ Ray Bradbury

This is my favorite quote from the lot. Sometimes, we stand in our own way blocking what could be the very thing we must be doing.

And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good. ~ John Steinbeck

Perfection is overrated, and we often spend valuable time running after it. Instead, put those words out. Like I am doing here, this list is not going to be perfect. I'm still doing it.

I don't wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work. ~ Pearl S. Buck

If a Nobel prize-winning writer says something, you listen. I'm in no fucking mood to write a list, but I'm doing it anyway. If it's only to put in the reps.

The idea is to write it so that people hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart. ~ Maya Angelou

I hope that my list does the same. Even if it doesn't reach your heart, I hope it slides through the brain at the very least.

The purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself. ~ Albert Camus

Ok, maybe I'll never be such a powerful writer, but I want to spread love. I purely believe that kind, written words have the power to change even the toughest of humans.

We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect. ~ Anais Nin

Expanding on this amazing quote by Anais Nin, I'd like to add that you can even get to analyze your problems.

Do it by writing them out, as many times as you must until you get to a solution.

Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it's the only way you can do anything really good. ~ William Faulkner

I believe this to be true. That's the only way to start anything, really. Just start, it will take its own course.

Start before you're ready. ~ Steven Pressfield

Because if you do not take that leap of faith, you'll be forever stuck in 'wanting to start.'

If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. ~ Stephen King

Any writing advice list is incomplete without King himself. And how true he is. I am writing a lot these days, but I also must focus on reading more.

If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster. ~ Isaac Asimov

That's the kind of passion you need to be writing every day. It feels good when you make money from your writing.

But when the well dries up, only such intensity can keep you writing.

I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn. ~ Anne Frank

Let's close this list with this beautiful quote by Anne Frank. I think about it sometimes. What do I know about writing?

I am just another recovering alcohol abuser sharing his story. Yes, I've made a few bucks, but would I ever become a writer?

I don't know, what I do know is that I forget everything while I am typing away these words.

I hope these words will make you fall in love with the process of writing all over again.
