Designers always fear the two D's the most. Developers and the Deadlines. People find it hard to keep up with deadlines. Tasks are sensitive to time, and deadlines for completing certain tasks are as important as completing tasks. However, we try to complete with the required functional deadlines. Please note that I mean the deadline is realistic. When we try to meet realistic deadlines, we can only blame ourselves.

There may be many reasons why you miss to complete the design on time, but if you miss it often, such as every work you do, then your process has serious problems. Although this requires some improvements for your basic knowledge.

Okay, For myself and my team have worked on many projects and project proposals. Every time when we get a new project or project proposal we feel the potential opportunity for our next project. I think every designer feels the same when they suddenly enter a new project but also at the same time, fear comes up. What if you miss the deadline? Will you be able to complete the project? Yes, you can complete your project on your given deadline date There are some of the things you can do to complete your task.

Oh let me introduce myself. I work as a UI/UX Designer at Rootcode Labs. I have a great team.

What is the significance of the deadline?

The first reason is that the business wants to work with a timeline. Deadline term just brings in seriousness :-). Period!

Rapid Design does not add up to a good product.

Planning

Always allocate time. Time creates questions and issues create solutions and solutions give the best experience to your product. Delivering quality products needs more time without a doubt. Your design must go through various stages of evolution before it can be delivered to the client or made available to the outside world. There is always a state of mind that your project needs a little time to resolve, not only want to finish it as soon as possible. Get to know the product in-depth and start working.

If you want to make a perfect product with all requirements covered and get the right resources, but don't start yet, you will not finish before the deadline. Always keep in mind you don't wait until tomorrow or the next tomorrow to start now. Even if you haven't completed it, your brain has already brainstormed the task. The beginning has put you one step ahead of the task to complete.

Most designers do delaying tactics. You might change the start time again and again. Do not fall into the statement that the task usually grows to occupy the time. If this is the first time, the beginning is a principle that explains why a work that can be completed in one hour eventually takes three hours because it is still within the deadline.

Get the idea of the design process

Getting an idea of the design process from starting to end is highly important. If you do not know or see how designers work through a product, please check on the basics or you can get the idea from your design lead. There are so many ways to define the design process from start to end. Think in a simple way I ideation, research, the actual design, testing, repeat —Try to get to know the process and make sure you make it to what fits you the best. So this habit can make you a good designer.

keep away from distractions

When you have deadlines to meet, it is when distractions compete for time with the job. There are different types of distractions. Leave this game as you intend to play, and close your browser to prevent unnecessary Internet browsing. Explain to your partner that it is best to leave you alone for specific times in order to maintain absolute concentration.

keep away from extra works

It is regular, Design requirements change. In any case, try not to add work to the one previously chosen. In the design that you add more work, Assuming that requirements have changed and should be added into the work, request adding more time. More work to be completed with more time opportunities to complete the deadline within the time period.

Also one more thing. If you are not able to finish some changes without reverting them you can maintain version control in your design file. This may help you to see the product growth and changes. We always maintain version control.

Get a quick feedback

Getting quick feedback from a client will help your designs to go on the right track and you can know how was the client expression before you reach your deadline and have the meetings. You can work on the early changes and approach the client. This can clear all your doubts and brings more transparency into the design.

Steal like an artist from competitors

This is done more frequently. Also, it works. Always make a good analyze, research, and learn all the competitors which match your product before you come up with your solutions. There may be a very simple solution to consider, and possibilities that you have considered to solve the problem on the wrong track. Because already a designer from outside of your competitor has gone through these processes and then came up with these solutions.

Get free resources

There are so many resources available online for free and commercial use. Try to use free icons and illustrations in your design. For example, a hamburger menu icon looks the same even if you make it or reuse it from free resources.

Use the previous design system components

The design needs a left arrow or dropdown. If that is available in the previous design system, please use it. Never go to design something new that looks like a left arrow. But that will be a custom-made icon but still, it decreases your time. Some designers put more effort and time into this to come up with their own components for web, mobile. the best advice is to use them If you want to save more time. Use it.

Deliver your Incomplete work

Never feel guilty about delivering your incomplete work. When you deliver your incomplete work to the Client/PM will see how close you were to completing it and how much work effort you have put into the design. They will realize an additional time will help you to come up with a great design. Right to accept that you are not able to complete the work within the deadline and frankly you can ask for more time. Keep in mind why you started.

Hey Designers I just want to keep you remember these will be helpful when you follow these to your process. But its always how much effort you put for yourself to work+brilliant work produce the best outcome from yourself. One more thing Great design will always be more time consuming than you think.

Thank you for reading. Hope you have a great day.
