Recently, some Medium Partner Program participants were experiencing an issue where their account status showed up as "Unknown".
It confused writers who were using the platform to make money and grow.
Our illumination editor Shamse Alam reached out to Medium's support team for clarification on the matter.

As soon as the Medium team read this, they confirmed that the 'Unknown' status was a bug in the Partner Program.
They told us that they'd found the issue and sent it up to their development team to fix. This was a little bit of relief, but they couldn't say when the fix would be in place.
Medium responded, stating that from time to time bugs sneak into their response due to system upgrades or unexpected technical glitches.
In that regard, they stressed their aim of improving the function of the platform and to provide writers a smooth experience.
They said they did not have a precise timeframe, but the development team was working on the issue.
Medium Partner Program participants experiencing this problem are asked to continue to be patient for now. Changes should start showing up soon, Medium's team said, adding to monitor the dashboard for updates.
Medium's transparent communication of the bug may have temporarily thrown some writers off, but the company's willingness to solve issues is clear. But as creators, we love platforms like Medium for helping us connect with readers and for earning opportunities.
If your case is marked as "Unknown" don't worry, we're working on it.
We're monitoring the glitch on Medium and will update you when it gets resolved. In the meantime, keep creating.
