First of all, I would like to say that there are people who get into bug bounties due to the fact that it is extremely lucrative and almost no online business has the potential of earning you so much money.

Despite the intense competition in Bug bounty, everyone wants to try their luck. Actually, it is worth it after all the hard work and countless nights you spend learning hacking. The rewards, the bug bounties are often very huge that they will save someone their kitchen money for a month within just a single bounty.

Then as you increase you learning and spend time on real targets for years, you build that kind of experience which makes finding bugs any time you like.

However, the question arises here that are VDPS worth it?

That's an old question that is always discussed in the bug bounty community.

So many hackers fight over this. There's mixed opinion on this topic of VDPs vs BBPS.

Recently, a wave of VDP programs have surfaced from out of nowwhere and keep making thier way to everyone list of private programs. And if you look at my dashboard, I recieve more VDP's instead of programs that pay. That hurts tbh.

Now, for me personally, I don't see them wrong. There's a reason why. First and foremost, they help you get an idea of what it's like to find an IDOR, an SQLI, XSS and more bugs.

Let's face it, If you started and jumped into a bb program right away, you'll be dissapointed as you won't find anything.

But consider VDP as your practice place. A place where you can try a different payload, techniques or methods and eventually get an SQLI.

They also increase your chance of getting your very first private invites.

So I don't see them as bad. Also, if you didn't know some vdps provide a cash reward similar to what you get in bbps.

I once had this VDP that I helped, they sent me an invitation to their private program that paid bounties.

Suprisingly, the competition there was negligible so I grabbed some really easy bugs like rate limit bypass on login and one being a simple IDOR.

I will leave it on you to decide. You may not agree with my opinion and that's okay. I respect your opinion.
