It had nothing to do with his appearance.

Or what he said.

It was about how he made me feel.

For the first time, someone looked at me and actually saw me, not the version I tried to be, but the person I truly was underneath.

He noticed the quiet things.

  • When I was nervous, my voice changed.
  • The way I tried to cover up my pain with a smile.
  • He paid attention, and in a world full of people who look but don't see, that felt rare.

I did not fall for him because he was perfect.

I fell because he made me feel like I valued.

Like my thoughts, my dreams and my fears all were worth listening to.

Love like that changes you.

It is when someone looks at your chaos and decides to remain.

Perhaps it was brief. Perhaps it was not meant to.

But I will always remember that feeling of being truly seen, and finally realizing that I deserve that kind of love again.
