If you've made up your mind to start bug bounty hunting you have definitely heard the magical words private invite.
But starting on these big platforms seems difficult at first. However, getting private invites seems like the shortcut to success or you can say easy bugs.
You know the BB programs that are open to everyone get a lot of eyes on them from almost everyone. From beginners to experts to pros, all these people have tested these same programs with their different skillsets.
So the chances for us beginners to find any low hanging fruits seems impossible right?
Also, not to forget, these programs that are open to everyone see a lot of automation everyday. Which means, your dream of finding that XSS on the home page of the website isn't going to be true.
So, to increase our chances of finding anything meaningful, we head over to our private programs. Now because there are less hackers there, the chances of finding something become solid.
Here's how I got mine
I won't mention any program or platform here but the way I got my first and then another was when I hunted on a program late night which was a vdp.
VDPS are an easy start, though it's not guaranteed you'll get your first private invite just like that but every bug counts.
Submitting a few highs or even one critical puts you on the right track.
I didn't get mine with the first bug submitted but after a few more tries and a handful of bugs, i started getting them almost everyday.
But I wouldn't give you any false hopes. I believe in telling the truth. So the problem here is, even the private programs are overcrowded because of everyone getting into hacking.
So they are also not so worth it. But I would say they increase your chances of finding something by a lot.
