People in this publication may already be very familiar with what programming is.
But if you have friends, grandparents, or anyone that you know that may not have a clue what you are doing, please forward this Medium story to them, so that they can understand what in the world you do for a living.
I did the work for you. You can go about your life peacefully.
You are welcome.
Welcome
Hi there! Welcome to your short introduction to programming. Here, you will learn a little something about programming.
If you become the next Bill Gates reading this, please remember me.
History of Programming
Programming for computers has been around for a very long time.
Programming for the ordinary citizen began when the personal desktop was introduced to the world in the 1970s.
Before that, computers filled an entire room. Over the years. Computers are shrinking in size till the present day when they are on your wrist.
Very few people back then when computers started did programming.
Bill Gates, started programming at a tender age. He made it into a business that made him one of the wealthiest people in the world.
Whether you just want to make programming into a career or do it as a hobby, there is plenty to look forward to if you are just beginning to program.
You may want to put your kids through programming school so that they can learn the basics and maybe one of the things that they can do to save the world.
Here, I will be explaining what programming is and how they can get started on their path to becoming the next Bill Gates.
What is Programming?
Humans communicate through talking. If you want to speak to a computer, you have to speak to it through code.
Programming is basically telling a computer what to do.
Let's say you want to tell people about who you are. You will then have to make a website that contains the text.
That will be done through coding your website using HTML and making it into a web page that you can put onto a server. People can then get the web page from the server and read what you just wrote about who you are.
Everything that happens on a server, web browser, and web site happens with programming.
Your car, your TV, your radio have all got code that they run to function. That's why they all do so well to give you the life you are living.
It's all running on code to make it happen.
The Future of Programming?
Robots or AI. Artificial Intelligence.
That's what you are looking at, and this is already happening this very moment.
Robots are already becoming a reality. As consumers, you may not want to program your own robot.
But if you want to cash in on the future programming to program the first robot to wash your clothes, make your breakfast and maybe even brush your teeth, this is the time you pick up programming and get started.
How to Start Programming?
This is the best time to learn to program right now. There are so many programs that for a meager price that can get you started.
A lot of programs are even free if you do not want to spend a cent on education.
On your smartphone, multiple apps have sprung up to teach you how to program from the beginning.
Kids can start playing programming games that allow them to learn the art of programming through play.
It is just the best time in the world to pick up programming. I will provide you a few apps here on the Play Store and App Store for you and your kids to explore.

Programming Languages
Long ago, programming languages didn't feel like you would understand it because it was a language of its own. Like a language that you would never understand without proper training.
As programming languages evolved, you can understand it easier because it is starting to mimic natural language.
Languages such as C++, Java, Python, and BASIC are the first ones that made it big.
The latest major language is SWIFT. It needs less code to do things that required a lot of code for the same function.
Languages are getting simpler to use.
Computers are using voices as a way to interact with it.
If you want to pick up the language of the future. Talk to computers and teach them how to operate to get things done for you, then you will be so happy when you finally can do just that.
Make robots to do your bidding.
I hope reading this has given you a little glimpse and a guide to you as to how to approach programming.
Here's hoping that you will be the next person to make a robot that will change our lives forever.
And become the next Bill Gates.
Peace.
